Construction projects are making a comeback across the U.S. Since the Recession, the industry has slowly regained its strength. But construction is not what it used to be.
Some of the most popular construction markets have more projects than contractors can keep up with. In a recent survey of 900 contractors, 83 percent found it difficult to employ skilled craft workers. Part of the issue is the heavier focus on computer-based construction tools and techniques.
Some of the new methods include the use of 3D design plans, laser pinpointing and GPS devices. The good news is that more schools are dedicated to training young people on this next generation of construction.
