Are you considering upgrading your insulation to spray foam before the winter? Great idea – as long as you understand a few key aspects.
Spray foam insulation kits come in two options: 1-component or 2-component. Within these categories are other varieties, but this first one is the most important.
One-component foam is best used as a sealant for small cracks and seams. On the other hand, two-component foam expands more, making it better for recesses, walls and attics. The two types are also measured differently, distributed differently and have different R-values.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution. So before starting an insulation project, be sure to do your research.
