Instead of just water, trash pumps have the ability to take in debris up to 3/4 of an inch in diameter (for 3″ semi-trash pumps). However, they cannot process larger objects, such as rocks and sticks, so a strainer is recommended for this kind of pump as well. Semi-trash pumps are perfect for taking care of indoor flooding or an abundance of water at cleaner job sites.
